Japanese Government chooses Content Protection for Cool Japan initiative
Manga and Animation content protection service provided
Tokyo, Japan
June 5, 2014 - Regrettably, according to a report by the Japanese Government’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), a huge number of Manga and Anime fans, over 50% of them in the U.S. and 12% in Japan, are watching or reading pirated works.
In recent years, the pirates that use these sites have begun earning revenue, through advertisements, URL shortners that pay according to traffic numbers, affiliations with E-commerce sites, and by selling Apps. In response, METI has launched the Manga-Anime Guardians Anti-Piracy Project and received services tenders from many anti-piracy vendors.
StrategyCore and its local partners were chosen to provide Torrent Protection, targeting new releases of illegal content being shared worldwide using the BitTorrent file sharing protocol. Together, we will be targeting 580 sources of illegal content worldwide over the span of the next 5 months.
